Since the history of civilization, healthcare professionals have been a "light of hope" for humanity in its most difficult times. In times of various diseases, epidemics and problems, civilizations have placed their hopes on healthcare professionals. This monument aims to keep alive the names of healthcare workers who sacrificed their lives for people they did not know on the front lines during the difficult times we are in and who gave us hope for the future by working in various researches.
The monument consists of three sculptural masses rotating 120 degrees around a center. Surrounding the monument and extending towards the sky, the names of our deceased healthcare workers and the names of scientists and healthcare workers who have carried out various research and tasks to help humanity in this difficult period will be illuminated and extend towards the sky.

Health workers have been a ‘’light of hope’’ to humanity in the most difficult times of humanity since the history of civilization. During the periods of various diseases, epidemics and problems, civilizations have placed their hopes on health workers. In the difficult period we are in, it is aimed to keep the names of health workers who sacrificed their lives for people they never knew on the front lines and gave us hope for the future by working in various researches with this monument.

The monument consists of 3 sculptural masses rotating 120 degrees around a center. Surrounding the monument and extending towards the sky, the names of our deceased health workers and scientists and health workers who have carried out various researches and tasks to help humanity during this difficult period will be illuminated and extend towards the sky.

The work takes its original form from the human hand with its hands open towards the sky. A conceptual reference is made to the health workers who keep humanity standing with their hands during the difficult period our country and the world are in. The “protection wall” that surrounds the people experiencing the monument as if “protecting” them and has names written on it rises towards the sky and creates light beams illuminating the sky in the middle of the monument.

In order for the structure to establish a dynamic relationship with its surroundings at various hours during the day, stainless steel, a reflective and contemporary material, was preferred. Stainless metal, used in many modern monument structures, was preferred because it is light, long-lasting, durable and easy to process.

A pool is positioned right in the middle of the monument. This pool is equipped with the water lily (lotus) flower, which has a historical and mythological importance in medical science, purifies itself and the dirty water it is in, and represents “rebirth” in various civilizations. Another reason for choosing the water lily flower is that it is the symbol that forms the corporate identity of Nilüfer Municipality. The light beams defined as the “light of hope” will illuminate the sky with a 1000-2000W projector to be positioned in the middle of this pool. This lighting system is applied in many monument structures around the world.

SETTLEMENT PROPOSAL
In order to create a stronger impact on the surroundings and the people who experience the park, it is suggested that the monument be positioned in the center of Dr. Refik Saydam Park. Three different routes are suggested for access to the monument, which is positioned at a 120-degree angle around a center and forms a spiral. These routes are proposed as an axis that acts as a “memorial path”, illuminated crosswise during the hours when sunlight is low, in order to commemorate our deceased healthcare workers. A park experience is also suggested with various areas connecting these routes and surrounding the monument. Different installations (such as an open-air exhibition area) can be suggested at various points of the park.
